Cross the Lake Biwa Bridge and experience Omi’s food culture, shaped by the surrounding lake and mountains, with an Omi beef lunch. At Ukimido, peacefully standing over the quiet waters, take in the calming views across the lake and prepare for the mountain route ahead. This journey is not only about cycling — it is also about taking the time to enjoy the local cuisine and scenery unique to the region.

From Lakeside to Mountains — Discover Breathtaking Views by E-Bike
Climb the hills on the western side of the lake by e-bike, and Lake Biwa opens up below you in a magnificent panorama. From above, the lake reveals a sense of height and depth completely different from the views along the shore. At Saikyoji Temple, surrounded by the tranquility of the mountains, enjoy a peaceful moment before returning to the starting point in Hamaotsu. The route covers approximately 50 km with around 390 m of elevation gain. Even with sections of unpaved road, the assistance of an e-bike makes it possible for riders of different fitness levels to enjoy the culture and scenery together.
