What to Know Before You Start?

A bike bag is required for bike transport

Before using a bike bag, please check how to disassemble and secure your bike, as well as the rules and etiquette for traveling by train. Always be considerate of those around you and transport your bike safely. After reassembling the bike, make sure all parts are correctly installed and securely fastened before riding.

How to Transport a Cross Bike

Loosen the front wheel quick release

Removing the front wheel

Operate the quick-release lever on the front wheel axle and loosen the wheel.

! POINT Be careful not to lose any removed parts.

Release the front V-brake

Releasing the front V-brake

Release the V-brake so that the front wheel can be removed.

Remove the rear wheel

Removing the rear wheel

Release the rear V-brake and loosen the quick release. Shift the chain onto the smallest outermost gear, then pull the rear derailleur backward while removing the rear wheel.

! POINT Remove the rear wheel slowly and avoid applying excessive force to the chain or rear derailleur.

Secure both wheels to the bike frame

Securing the wheels to the bike frame

Place the removed front and rear wheels on both sides of the bike frame and secure them firmly with the included straps.

Place the bike in the bike bag

Placing the bike in the bike bag

Place the bike with the wheels secured into the bike bag, make sure the entire bike fits inside, and then close the zipper.

! POINT Do not force the bag closed, as this may cause damage.

Carry the bike bag

Hold the bike frame securely through the opening of the bag.

! POINT At stations and on trains, please be considerate of other passengers.

When carrying your bike in a bike bag, please make sure it does not block the way of people around you.

Reassemble Your Bike After Arrival

Reassembling the bike after arrival

Take the bike out of the bike bag and reassemble it by following the steps in reverse.
After reassembly, always perform a safety check before riding.

Q. Can I rent a bike bag?

Yes, bike bags are available for rent.
*An additional rental fee applies.

Q. Can I rent a rear dropout protector?

No, rear dropout protectors are not available for rent at our shop.

Q. Can any bicycle be transported this way?

This guide is intended for cross bikes.

Q. Can I take my bicycle directly onto the train?

Please fully pack your bicycle inside a bike bag and follow the rules of each transportation operator.

Important Notes

  • Please make sure the bicycle is completely enclosed inside the bike bag.
  • At stations and on trains, please be considerate of other passengers.
  • When carrying your bicycle, take care not to bump into people or facilities around you.
  • After disassembly and reassembly, make sure all parts are securely fixed.
  • Please check and follow the rules of each transportation operator.
  • Rear dropout protectors are not provided by our shop.
